Dr. Yalieski Garcia brings expertise and compassion to Aegis Medical Group.
Outside of your immediate family and close friends, nobody knows you as well as your primary care doctor. He or she learns about your medical history, your medication list, your personality, and your lifestyle.
Therefore, it’s important to have a primary care doctor who is experienced, safe, and trustworthy. He or she should also take pride in helping patients stay healthy and happy.
Those qualities perfectly sum up Dr. Yalieski Garcia, who joined the Aegis Medical Group team three months ago. He’s excited about this new venture and says the practice is a perfect fit.
“Aegis Medical Group is very efficient and provides doctors with the resources to do our jobs to the best of our ability,” he says. “The entire team is always helping one another. It’s a great working environment.”
A native of Cuba, Dr. Garcia completed medical school at the Instituto Superior De Ciencias Medicas and completed his residency at HIMA San Pablo-Caguas Hospital. He spent one year as a physician in Orlando before joining Aegis Medical Group.
Dr. Garcia, who works at the Leesburg and Lady Lake locations, looks forward to building relationships with local residents.
“It’s a lot of fun because I work with patients from all walks of life,” he says. “Some are military veterans and they share their stories with me. I get to hear pieces of their lives.”
He treats patients with a comprehensive approach, taking time to listen to their individual concerns and providing them with individualized solutions. His friendly demeanor puts patients at ease, and his desire to improve their health ensures excellent outcomes.
“I’m very pro-patient,” he says. “I try not to order unnecessary labs or medications. I educate them and give them choices in how to best proceed in their health care.”
Moreover, Dr. Garcia doesn’t limit treatment to a particular organ or disease. Instead, he’s dedicated to treating the whole patient and not just a list of symptoms.
“I used to be an obstetrician- gynecologist in Cuba, so I can provide Pap smears at the Lady Lake office,” he says. “So instead of seeing an OB/GYN, patients can have the test performed by their primary care doctor.”
Outside of work, Dr. Garcia enjoys spending time with his wife, Madelaine, and two children, Enso, 3, and Cecelia, a baby. He also spends time bicycling and fishing, as well as practicing Budo Taijutsu, a Japanese style of martial arts.
